Born into a family of artists, Gabriel Nóbrega went to Music college and learned animation all by himself. Starting at 11 years old, for more than a decade he followed his father, musician and performer Antonio Nóbrega, playing the drums in concerts around the world. At the same time, he applied himself to his other passion, visual arts, using an improvised studio in his backyard where he could experiment with various techniques and create his first animations. And it was from that workspace that sprang the first creations of the studio he was to be one of the founders, Animatório – short films and TV clips, mostly done in stop motion, a technique that became closely associated with his work and which to this day he remains very enthusiastic about.
