MIXBrazil Festival - Moth

In this latest collaboration between LOBO and the MIXBrazil festival, the audience is invited to reflect on freedom and self-discovery in a transformative journey.Created by Talent agency and directed by Gabriel Nóbrega, to promote the 32nd edition of the festival — which celebrates culture, cinema, theater, and music with a focus on diversity — the film revolves around the Moth, a creature that carries various stigmas in popular imagination but is also a symbol of metamorphosis and attraction to light.The film was produced without a storyboard, with scenes created spontaneously. Originally envisioned as an animated piece, the project evolved into a live-action film, where each scene was crafted on set to embody the concept of metamorphosis and the moth’s journey toward the light. The process ranged from artisanal techniques, such as the moth character being animated by hand in real time, to scenes captured using a cutting-edge robotic arm.
