In 2020 Brahma Brewery launched its Double Malt variety, a beer that combines the lightness of Pilsner with the flavor of Munich malts. To celebrate the new product’s arrival Africa agency and Lobo teamed up to create a film that explores the contrasts between those two elements and the various ways they are mixed together, in a visually impressive, enticing manner.
Directed by Gabriel Nóbrega, the advert was 100% shot in studio, without any CGI involved. A wide array of gadgets and contraptions were put together to move the malted barley grains, liquids and foams, while a super high-speed camera mounted on a robotic arm shot the action in its minute detail. The sound design, in turn, contributes to the creation of a dramatic, grandiose ambience, making the viewer feel immersed among the elements.
