LOBO and pet food brand 374 Pets teamed up to create this jaunty, catchy musical ad featuring a charismatic bunch of furry, feathery and scaly critters. This is one of those projects that’s very dear to our hearts, and not just because of the cute animals: more than advertising a product, we used it as a mentorship platform – an opportunity to introduce a group of aspiring animation professionals to a real animated commercial production, from start to finish.A team of students were selected from local animation, art and design schools and allocated to the various stages of the project’s production pipeline, guided by senior professionals who supervised the whole venture: Creative Director Isabella Littger, Art Director Thiago Martins, Animation Director Anderson Omori and Producer Bruna Boretto. Together with the opportunity to put their skills to practical use on storyboarding, character design, animation and post-production, the students attended online classes on the various aspects of animated filmmaking and advertising. The process ran smoothly and benefited greatly from the creative input of so many fresh minds, resulting in an irresistible piece of 2D animation that manages to appeal to children and adults alike, thanks to a graphic style that’s at the same time stylish and approachable.By supporting this project, 374 Pets made a valuable contribution to the emergence of new talents in the animation industry.
