Catfish is a hit show in the US that tells real stories of virtual impostors — people pretending to be someone else on social media — and their victims.
The biggest challenge was to recreate the effect popularized by “Mission: Impossible” on a much smaller budget. Choosing the right talent for each part of the spot was also an important step. We did some test runs of the effect using various rubber masks and the help of our co-workers, and the result was very encouraging. We then selected a location with enough room for our art department to build the shady lair of the impostor. We planned the wardrobe changes and the sequencing of the actors for the effect and the mood of the spot to achieve maximum impact.
